Haul: KIKO Cosmetics

Hi girls, we've finally got around to posting our KIKO haul!

So many people have raved about KIKO and how amazing they are, especially their lip liners, I don't know why it took us so long to go but when we eventually did, we went a little crazy. (There was so much more that we wanted, trust me!) They have such a wide variety of makeup in there, they literally have everything, from makeup to nail polishes to skincare products to travel essentials.. On and they have the cutest little shopping baskets!

Anyways like always, everything will be linked..
302 - Natural Pink
308 - Bordeaux
~ £4.20 each ~
Absolutely love these lip liners, highly pigmented and a very good price. However the colour of 302 isn't really a 'natural pink' as the name suggests, it's more of a peachy nude. 302 is a great dupe for MAC's 'Nice n Spicy'.

503 - Hot Pink
504 - Mauve
~ £5.90 each ~
These lip liners last much longer than the previous one, I don't find myself reapplying this during the day.

Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow 07 - Golden Beige
~ £6.90 ~
Bronze Metallic Eye Pencil 02 - This was Limited Addition so it's no longer on the website, sorry!

~ £6.90 ~
Love this eyeliner by KIKO, the tip of the applicator is super thin so you can control how thick you go, the colour is also jet black and very concentrated providing you've dipped it fully in the pot. I've have realised some fading of the liner by the end of the day. I would definitely repurchase as it is so fast to apply due to the perfect and precise point!
According to makeup magicians @SoniaxFyzaKIKO's lasting gel eyeliner is on their top
'Blackest eyeliners EVER list', you can read their blog post here.

~ £1.00 each ~
From left to right

322 - Caffe Latte
321 - Dove
380 - Medium Grey
326 - Graphite Gray

Hope you liked our little haul!

Haul, Swatches & Mini Review: Me Now Generation II Long Lasting Lip Gloss

Evening girls!

I'm so excited to share this post with you.. Let me introduce to you Me Now Generation II Long Lasting Lip Glosses.
3 words.. I'm in LOVE!

Ayesha originally saw these gems watching the lovely Chinutay's Youtube video (she's one of our favourite youtubers btw)  you can watch her video review here. She got a lot more colours than we did but I'm sure you can all agree with me when I say, it's never a good idea to get a lot of something especially if you haven't tried them before so that's the reason we only got 5.
Ayesha would review these herself but she's swamped with exam revision at the moment (best of luck Aysh) so I thought I would review them instead!

From top to bottom:
30 - Light Brown
26 - Coral
18 - Lilacy Nude
33 - Deep Red
13 - Neon Pink
(these are the numbers, not the actual names, I've just described the colours)
They have a wand applicator which I like.

Swatches on my arm - From left to right
26, 30, 18, 33, 13

Swatches on my lips - For number 30, I used a Kiko Automatic Precision lipliner in '504' and for number 18, I used a L.A Girl Endless lipliner in 'Natural'. I didn't swatch number 13 on my lips as I didn't really like the colour when it arrived (a little too neon for me!)

These lip glosses have both plus and minus points. I say 'lip glosses' but they aren't actually glossy, they go on as a liquid and dry matte, so they should be called liquid lipsticks but hey ho.

The major plus is that they only cost £1 each.. Yeah £1 (talk about cheap and cheerful!) The colour selection is massive, they range from peaches to pinks to reds and all shades in between. The tubing type of bottle is adorable too. Another major plus is that they actually do last all day! I was amazed as I didn't really have high expectations considering how much they cost but believe me, the colour stay is better than some I've paid a lot more for. I'd definitely put them up there with Kat Von D's everlasting lipsticks and Limecrime's Velvetines. To see our Limecrime haul, click here.)

Now to the minuses.. First and foremost the formula is really sticky. When I first apply it, it's fine, the texture is as a normal liquid lipstick but when it dries, it becomes super sticky on my lips, so much so that when I put my lips together, it literally feels like I'm having a lip peel Saying that I'm sure the stickiness will reduce if you apply some translucent powder over the top with your finger. Another minus is the consistency when it's been on my lips all day. It's almost like chewing gum and after having it on for hours it still takes a bit of rubbing to get it off but hey that just means that it's not moved all day which can't really be a minus can it? Last minus is the time it takes to get to your front door.. Can take weeks, maybe months so you have to patient which is sometimes easier said than done!

Overall I absolutely love these! I think I should buy some in more daring colours.. What do you think?

We ordered ours from eBay, the sellers name is AlexWangStore, you can buy them here.

Until our next post,
Nazma x

How To: Organise your Makeup

Good afternoon our lovely readers, hope you're all well?
& Happy 1st of May!!

Me (Ayesha) and Nazma thought it would be a good idea to share with you how we organise our makeup including what we use to organise everything. We've seen so many Youtube videos and blog posts on how others organise theirs and to be honest, we found it really helpful when it came to organising our own plus they're so enjoyable to watch (are we the only ones?)

We'll make sure we link everything below, if we've forgotten anything that you'd like to know, comment below this post or let us know on our instagram @houseofdemure!

So this is our dressing table, me and Nazma share (not the chair.. Nazma is usually stood up, I get the chair HAHA!
The dressing table is the famous IKEA MALM Dressing Table, really affordable, does the job, isn't too big or too small and comes in Black too I think. The only negative is, we have problems with the draw that pulls out, it bolts out of place all the time and it stops in an awkward place which makes it hard to get to the back of the draw but other than that we love it.

These clear aryclic draws are what we use to put our 'most reached for' products in. The draws are from good ol MUJI (we seriously love that place). The first 4 small draws going horizontally come together (can be stood up or layed flat as we have them) and the 3 draws underneath also come together. These aryclic draws are perfect for makeup, nail polishes and jewellery. MUJI have such an impressive selection, they vary in dimensions and the quality is amazing so in our opinion they were well worth it.

On top of the draws we put our foundations that we wear more or less everyday (sometimes we opt for a BB cream or tinted moisturiser, which all live in the draw of the dressing table along with everything else that we don't usually reach for everyday). We also have our Banana powder and beauty blender on top.. Not forgetting Nazma's big jar of jelly beans!

First 4 pull out draws (from left to right) -
1. Liquid eyeliners/pencil eyeliners/eyebrow gel/eyebrow wand
2. Mascaras
3. Cream/liquid lipsticks
4. Lipliners

2nd draw - Lipsticks

3rd draw - Face products (Bronzers/Blushers/Highlighters and Eyebrow kits.)

4th draw - Concealers/Correcters/Gel eyeliners/Sharpener/Eyelash glue/Eyebrow plucker/Other random eye products.

This post should really be called 'How We: Organise Our Makeup' as it's not necessary how you need to have yours. I wouldn't say we're the most organised people in the world (Nazma is a lot more than I am.. Oops) but it's the worst when you're in a rush and can't find what you need, besides it looks so much prettier when it's organised. So we hope you benefit from this or even pick up some ideas to revamp your own dressing tables/makeup areas/vanities (if you're American).

Our KIKO Haul will be our next post.

Bye for now!
