Review: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

Hey guys, it's Nazma. I think it's been way overdue for me to review NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. It's my number one most favouritest favourite foundation ever in the history foundations. I've been wearing this more or less everyday for nearly 2 years now so I feel like I can give you guys my honest opinion about it. This was the first ever NARS product I bought and after hearing everyone on YouTube and various other blogs rave about it, I thought I have to try it too! Besides anything that promises to give me flawless looking skin, I'm a sucker for.. and the rest is history! That's an accomplishment in itself for me!

Get your cuppa ready.. It's a long one!

So initially when I went to buy this foundation, the lady that worked at NARS said I was inbetween the shade 'Punjab' and 'Barcelona' (snazzy names huh?) She tried both of them on me but I felt a lot more comfortable with the darker shade which was 'Barcelona', 'Punjab' just looked too light on me.

'Barcelona' on the left!

Let me start of with the coverage, when I first heard the name 'sheer glow' I assumed it was going to give me a really dewy finish and the coverage was going to be light.. To my surprise it was the complete opposite, the coverage is medium but very build-able, the finish is slightly dewy, but by no means glowy as the name suggests. The best thing about this particular foundation is, I don't find myself looking blotchy during the day after applying it at 7/8am, which is another bonus for anyone that works full-time, speaking from experience this foundation won't let you down.

I used the shade 'Barcelona' for over a year and even introduced it to my sisters (they love it too!) But Nazia (my sister) mentioned that I start to look darker as the day goes on and suggested I go get a lighter shade. I realised that when I applied my foundation in the morning, it was a perfect match but during the course of the day when my natural oils in my skin released, it made me look darker which is a common issue. I went back to NARS and told them my dilemma (completely melodramatic.. I know!) She said I should try the shade 'Stromboli' which is what I wear currently and have been for the last few months. I must say the lady at NARS was right so thank you NARS lady!

Shade - 'Stromboli'

I apply it with Real Techniques 'Expert Face Brush which works a treat for me. It doesn't take a lot of effort to blend and leaves my skin looking radiant and somewhat natural. What I mean by natural is, it doesn't completely paint my face with foundation, if applied correcting and buffed in properly, you won't be left looking cakey in the slightest but more natural and evened out. Like I said previously this foundation is build-able, I only use 1 pump on a daily basis and apply concealer over the top which gives me that little bit more coverage where I need it (under eyes). I feel a little definitely goes a long way with this

If you're like me and don't particular like looking dewy, I apply Ben Nye Banana Powder over the top which gives me a matte look. As my skin type is combination (oily T zone and normal everywhere else) I find I need to occasionally blot my face during the day but never have to apply more foundation.

The only negatives I have about this foundation is that it doesn't come with a pump, after paying so much for the foundation alone, you'd think the pump would be thrown in. I think higher end brands should really consider making that rule mandatory (who's with me?) Also the price isn't very impressive either, £30.50 for a foundation is pretty ridiculous but it does last a long time and is amazing so I guess I can let that one slide.

In all honesty since buying this foundation, it's all I wear and would recommend it to everyone even if you have oily skin, like I mentioned earlier, it doesn't give you a really dewy finish, I'd say it's more semi-matte so don't be put off by the name. I've never had more compliments on my skin since wearing this to be honest, so purchasing it again is an absolute must.. Although I have heard good things about their new Luminous Weightless Foundation.. On the cards next.. Maybe!

Have you tried this foundation? If so what do you think of it?

OOTD: Weather Appropriate

Hello lovely ladies, it's Nazia with quick OOTD!

The weather in the UK has been so unpredictable lately, we've had strong wind, rain, hail.. You name it! I can't wait for the warm, sunny days to begin already. Can you believe this time last year the sun was shining, the sunglasses were out (and so were the ice creams!)
Saying that, it has started to look up lately.. Yay!

Here's what I wore today..

Haul: Lime Crime

Hey ladies, it's Ayesha!

I posted a pic on our instagram @houseofdemure a few days ago of my Lime Crime delivery that arrived.. Packages make me so excited even though I know what's inside them hehe! I thought I'd show you what I bought.

I know some strange stuff has been going on with Lime Crime recently that's maybe stopped people from ordering from them (probably the reason why the stuff I got was still in stock!) I read something about their website being hacked and customers information stolen, I on the other hand dodged that bullet as I believe the website is now hacker-free! I also payed via Paypal so I was assured that my money was protected.
TIP: Whenever you can, always pay via Paypal especially on platforms like Depop and Ebay regardless of how much you're paying, you will be protected from any scammers!

As a whole I really like Lime Crime! I ordered one of their famous Velvetines in the colour 'Wicked' a few months ago, it's a gorgeous deep Red shade. I wanted to order the other two I got this time but they were out of stock, nevertheless, I have them now! :D

If any of you haven't heard of their Velvetines, they're basically a lip product that goes on liquid but dries matte and are absolutely amaaaazing! If you'd like me to do a separate review on them, let me know and I will.

I came across this eyeshadow palette that looked suuuper pretty too so I thought I'd give it go.. Always a first for everything!

Here's what I got..

The Velvetines!
Nazia wanted Riot as well hence why I bought two!

Riot!

Cashmere!

The swatches!

I purchased them from the Lime Crime website. The Velvetines cost $20.00 each which I believe is around £13.00 and the palette was $42.00 which is £28.00 give or take.

Let me know what you think of Lime Crime products?

Until next time,

OOTD: Animal Printing

Hi all, we hope you've all enjoyed the little Easter break we've had recently, we most definitely did! The weather seems to be looking up too.. Bonus!

It's Nazma by the way! Me, my sisters and mum did quite a lot of shopping through the bank holidays and it was only right to take outfits pics before we hit the shops.

I'm wearing a animal print car coat I got a couple of years ago, (this was before the nice weather.. I'm not crazy! I swear!) I'm not really a big fan of animal prints but there was something about this.. I just had to get my hands on it!

What do you guys think of animal prints.. YAY or NAY?
